I’ve been signing up for the Goodreads Reading Challenge for the last few of years.
I’ve never met my goal.
For me, it’s been about getting out of a reading slump. It hasn’t really worked, but I’ve had a lot going on in the last couple of years. Usually, by the time I’m finished reading textbooks, research material, and the books my daughter wants to be read, I’m exhausted.
This year, I set the achievable goal of 26 books. According to Goodreads, I have read 3 books. I should probably get onto updating it.
Here’s how some other readers are going with their Goodreads Reading Challenges.
My Goodreads challenge for this year is 50 books. I’m over halfway so far! I read a lot more last year, so I’ll raise my goal if it looks like I’ll reach 50 with time to spare. 😉
I tend to read over a hundred books every year. This year, I set the bar at a hundred and fifty, and I’m about 84% complete. If I reach that goal too long before the end of the year, I’ll raise the goal. My original goal had been to read one hundred, and I not only did it, but continued, so I raised the bar a bit.
Last year I read a total of 66 books beating my goal of 50 books. This year I set my goal at 100 books. I’m currently at 17 books which puts me 38 books behind schedule right now. I’m going to be taking part in several readathons this year though so hopefully will catch up before the end of the year. I have plenty on my TBR list to keep me busy.
My goal this year is 35 books, and I’m sitting at 21 right now. Not bad! I go on reading binges now and then, so I’ll read nothing for a while, then devour an entire series in two weeks. You know how it is. Thank goodness for a book club I joined–they keep me supplied with fresh titles.
